What I did after I saw someone on my ring camera I did not recognize
Social Media selfies, TikTok filters, etc., all make it easy for you to lose sight of the size of your actual body.
Even when I take full body photos of myself, I can usually turn my hips and stand in a way to where I look slimmer, automatically. 😂😂
But six months ago, my honey installed ring cameras on the front and back doors. One day I was checking the footage to see if a package I was waiting for was delivered, when I caught a glimpse of someone I didn’t recognize.
Of course I see myself in a full length mirror every day, but there was something about that unedited video that was a wake up call.
At first, I tried to chalk it up to the camera lens being a fisheye style, kind of like an old Missy Elliot music video. 😂😂😂
But the truth is, my body IS the size it appears to be on the camera.
I did not need anyone to tell me, I could see it CLEARLY with my own two eyes.
And what do you do when you know something? The saying is: when you know better, you do better.
So, from that moment, I recommitted my mind to living my healthiest life-
but I also made a PLAN.
- I made an appointment with a functional medicine doctor to begin a medical weight loss program- this is a mixture of behavior changes and medication if necessary
2. I met with a doctor from a local weight management group to begin the journey to find what will work for me- this will include meeting with a dietician and other medical interventions if necessary
3. I purchased a @fitbit so I can clearly see how much I am moving and how well I am sleeping at night -which we all know can ultimately impact how much we can do during the day. When I first started using my Fitbit at night, my sleep score was in the low 60s, now it is at 77! My goal is in the 90’s.
I know I am equipped to do everything God created me to do, and all I have to do is take each DAY as it comes. No more hiding behind trickster selfies (Catfish Crystal is here to stay though 🥰) and “special” standing poses. 😛
Is there something you have been avoiding that you need to face? I pray you are able to face it very soon so that you can FIX IT and step back into your life, fully.
