You warm up the @campbells soup your mama left for you to eat for lunch. She had to work today, but since there’s no school, you are watching TV with your big brother Jerome.

A newscaster announces the space shuttle will be taking off soon. You turn to your brother and say “It’s gonna blow up!” as you shovel another spoonful of soup into your mouth. Your brother just shakes his head, he knows his little sister has a big imagination.

A few minutes later, the newscaster appears on screen again, and you and your brother watch the shuttle launch into the sky. However, it does not continue to go upwards, instead, it bursts into flames.

Your big brother turns to you, his mouth wide open.

“how did you know it was going to blow up?” and the truth is, you don’t know. But something told you as soon as you saw the shuttle that it would not make it into space.

Your mother comes home later that evening, with burgers from Pal’s, and the three of you sit around the kitchen table together. “What do you think about the space shuttle?” Your mother asks. Your brother starts to say something about your prediction, but you look at him and raise your eyebrows. “It was so crazy!“ he says instead.

“Yeah,” you say. “It was.”
